Peoplefest this past weekend at Veteran’s Park in Manchester was great! The Granite State Cloggers soaked it up 🙂

GSC had a table at the fair all day and we had lots of wonderful people come by and ask when we were performing (little did they know that the club offers lesson so that they could have fun clogging too!). We were performing at 5pm, and all were worried about Hannah – the hurricane that was making its way up the coast. It was supposed to hit New Hampshire as a severe rain storm that afternoon, just about the time we were supposed to perform.

And boy, did it.

Just before we were to take the stage, the torrential downpour started. Since it was a covered stage, we were still going to dance. As they say, “the show must go on“. By the time we were to start dancing, the stage floor was getting wet and gigantic puddles were pooling in the park. Since there were two acts performing after us, we cut our performance down to just two songs – Mountain Music and Sin Wagon. Even though there were just a few people huddled under the big tent on the side of the park and only the other performers left, GSC’s performance of Sin Wagon brought the loudest applause of the entire day! It was great!

As we headed off to our cars there was no escaping it – we got completely and utterly soaked, through and through. An umbrella was not certainly not providing any shelter. We walked through puddles that were ankle high and a number of us even had to take our glasses off to be able to see!

Although my car seat and seatbelt took a few days to dry (and my sneakers are still drying), Peoplefest was a ton of fun. How many others can say they have performed for a hurricane?!

To all those who took fliers and spoke with us about lessons – we hope to see you Wednesday evening!

Welcome to the Granite State Cloggers and welcome to our website!

We’re glad you have an interest in clogging and that you found us.  You may have seen us perform at county and state fairs in New England such as the Deerfield Fair and the Warner Fall Foliage Festival, or perhaps you saw us at a nursing home during the holidays. We are a non-profit club organization featuring a fun group of people who like to dance and have a good time.

GSC is open to everyone. If you are interested and would like more information, please contact granitestatecloggers@gmail.com.
